Any advice on a smallish portable sluice to buy for mainly fine gold? Many are out of stock at the moment but looking to get something.
Temu have a portable folding aluminum sluice box for around $120.00
Thanks mate, Ive never ordered from temu before…but if things turn up in the post I can see that it’d be worth a look
I have purchased serveral items for Temu, never had a problem and shipping tracking is included. Takes about ten days or so.
Join NZ Gold mining & prospecting page on FB. Couple of posts put up recently re: sluice boxes for sale
Look up Gold Rat river sluices, Australia. They send to New Zealand.
I have that fold up Temu one and I hated it. Couldnt get it to stop collapsing on itself and EVERY edge of it wants to cut you
Thanks for the heads up on this one.
Thanks Guys appreciate the thoughts
It wouldn’t take much to sort out those issues you say you had if you had an ounce of kiwi know how & DIY DNA.

You should buy one & fix it.
Agree 100%. Certainly cheap enough & not a biggy to file or sand the edges & improvise the “locking” of the fold up sections. A few small gutter bolts & wing nuts put paid to that. What do you expect for just over $100 including shipping. ![]()

I still have it and may do that, but at that time and situation it was easier to retreat to the van and get the A52 than waste already limited time rebuilding it
Looks like Ali Express matting (cheap if you buy in bulk due to shipping). Gold Rat supply 6” Dream Mat for $170 NZD minus shipping.
Suggestion would be to go to a metal shop that has a press, buy your own mat of preference and save some $
Appreciate all the perspectives, its proven cheaper to get what I need in from Oz
If you already had a Keene A52 then why did you feel compelled to get the “cheapie” sluice box?

At least the Dream mat are easier to clean-out, not as expensive as an over-priced A52, John
Maybe I should get back into making the sluice boxes I used to make & sell. ![]()

The size difference for the walks in drew me to it. Do you like to have more than one variety or size of tool… or just send it with your no8 wire mentality and willy in hand?! The weight and balance of an A52 is perfect, but the size itself is sometimes cumbersome and dangerous clambering up/down banks & boulders with other stuff in tow.
Yes $117 was cheap, but what you actually get is low grade parts for a project, not a usuable sluice, which is all I was trying to warn the guy about.
