RIP Keith, youāll be missed. I was hoping Iād get to see you one last time before you changed address. A good old generous bugger that was a real pleasure to meet. All the best with your new adventures.
RIP Keith, may your stories get better with time. Very sorry for all those concerned. Ben.
As an intermittent forum lurker from afar, I have enjoyed the voluminous experience-based inputs of your Dad over the years, and his inspiring propensity of sharing. I, like others, am grateful for this.
Thoughts are with you and your family, knowing that those extraordinary memories will give you strength together.

Very very sorry to hear of Keith going west. I totally enjoyed meeting him when he came over and so wanted to go over to see him. I guess that in my naivety l thought we would all last forever. I can say without reservation that he was the best guy I ever met on this siteā¦and a Landrover man into the bargain. So long my friend - until we meet again - you were the best. Hope they bury you with a pinch of gold dust and your .45-70!
RIP Keith, enjoyed all the good words and banter
Very sad to hear RIP Keith!
Never met Keith but enjoyed his posts godspeed
Hi ya All.
Yep its the bloody Mad Hatter Aka Trev Alty, occasionally known as āKiwigoldā, and yep thatās my Hotmail address also. So it canāt be pinched.
Well our mate has passed. As you may have read on here, I visited him five days ago and we spent a couple of enjoyable hours together . Bloody glad I did. Caz rang me this morning to inform me the sad news. I will share with you all the words of a brave man. "Trev Iām tired and ready to go. I got longer than they said I would. But I am over it, its been a struggle. We discussed cancer as I am also inflicted with that. But my future is somewhat rosier than Keithās.
The ole buggar then quizzed me on what happens if he suddenly drops dead on the floor. He knows I am a retired Policeman. So we ran through that. It was all just so matter of fact, as if we were discussing the weather. Thatās Keith for ya. No beating around the bush, straight up. Like he has always been. I hope many of you can attend his memorial service, as I will. He deserves a good showing of fellow miners for all he has done for the profession and hobby Sharing so much over the years. Lets all meet at the Westport Salvation Army Hall at 20 Henley Street, Westport at 11am on the 8th January and send off a bloody good keen man.
Simply Trev. .
RIP Keith, your posts have brought me many a smile.
Condolences to your family.
