COMPETITION North Island Vs South Island - EXTENDED

Gold I wish! Went into about a foot of water but found everything above the water line. I have just started cleaning the ring, the outside is just plain band, all I can see at the moment are the letters SIL on the inside, got more cleaning to do.

SIL may indicate it is an antique piece (or foreign).

I was quite surprised after thunderstorms but didn’t venture in to the water the same gala spot from that pic you sent

It’s a slightly modified xcal

I have a few rings with SIL and they are 925

Thanks that good to know

I got quite a few bays and beaches around here and I am slowly working my way through them.

The Siltona spoon was made in Sheffield, is (was) EPNS and probably dates to early 20th century - Production ended in 1919.

Good going - shingle beaches are usually difficult hunts due to being so mobile.

That’s also good to know thanks.

Ok I managed to clean it fully, on the inside of the ring it has stamped:
T STQ.SIL
So SIL probably means silver, not sure of what the small T followed by the STQ. means though. Any ideas?

Aha…it must be STG.SIL which would be sterling silver, am I right do you think?
