Any dirt on all these new claim applictions that have just popped up? Dreamers or have they found some pretty stone? JJ
I don’t know anything about the are the permits are over bit there was gold close by. See the stamping battery marked on his map.
Bit of Wellington Gold history for you.
Stuff.

Thanks for the articles, It says that earethquakes can change land. thats intresting. Does it move it to surface?
Well as you most likely know NZ has pretty much been formed from tectonic plate movement & volcanics. Gold & all other base metals comes from way down below the earths crust. In a nut shell, all mixed up in a super heated soup mix under enormous pressure. This soup concoction finds itself getting pushed up from that pressure when there is a weakness in the earths crust & the pressure forces this mix up through the cracks & fissures. These cracks & fissures & weak points can be the result of earth quakes & tectonic plate boundary movements that allow this mix to be forced up them towards the earths surface. The enormous pressure of the super heated soup mix also adds to forcing these cracks & fissures open more. As this super heated mix rises up & away from the magma heat source below, it starts cooling & the pressure also reduces. This loss of heat & pressure allows & causes certain minerals to peculate out of the mix & solidify at different points of the heat & pressure loss. Gold & silver separating out at kind of the same heat & pressure stage. Hence Gold & sliver hanging out together when mined from a hard rock deposit & processed. The quartz, iron, calcite & other elements were also part of that super heated soup mix & solidifying out on the journey towards the surface. Ground water plays a part as well. In reality most solidified way before the surface & what is at the surface now has been exposed by a zillion years of erosion. That is how alluvial gold got deposited into the creeks & rivers. It all started as being in the hard quartz rock but erosion has broken it out of the rock & freed it up from the host rock. In its travels by weathering & gravity it has worked its way into the water ways & has been rolled bowled & arseholed & smoothed, rolled & flattened off to form the alluvial gold we know of & find today in the creeks & rivers & old high terraces.
So fault lines, as in Wellingtons, will be the reason why there was those gold deposits. Both alluvial & the hard rock. It is just that they didn’t come to very much. But hey, they weren’t going to know that until they got stuck into it.

Yeah that’s the stuff I knew about, but the permits are in an area further to the east. I guess there is a gold rush on, and this is just like the speculative investment surrounding gold mining operations in the past. Plus the gold price is sky high so lower grade deposits become interesting.
