Yep. What’s known as WKP. Up in the hills behind Whangamata. Glass Earth were involved in a joint venture with Newmont years ago testing this area. Newmont sold out to Oceana Gold who carried it on. Glass Earth fell by the way side. These deposits have been know about for a long time & it is now really hotting up. Oceana of course are mining in Waihi. They have purchased a farm to the North of Waihi where they are going to tunnel 7 k’s to reach below DOC Reserve land to the ore vein to start mining it. The sinful part is all that New Zealand gold goes off shore. The real wealth is in the gold itself & our govt hasn’t the balls or brains to mine it & use it to pay off the overseas debt & make NZ wealthy. The other sinful part is that they allow overseas companies to dig up our land when it could be us doing it & keeping the gold here. Either way the land gets dug up, why don’t we do it? Fu@#ed in the head. That’s why. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Any way. Bit of a show & tell from last week gold mining.

Seems a bit sucky but we have NZ miners working abroad. That gold comes back to NZ. Just the way it is.

Yeah it feked all right…..at the moment there wasn’t even a kiss before before they f..ked us with the fule, cost of living etc.

That’s some nice shiny stuff there JW, nice work….

Hi all .. I totally agree .. it seems crazy that such a high grade deposit can be extracted by an overseas company for little or no royalties in a time when we seem to have ourselves in a real pickle.

I think a 10% royalty payable in gold.. which is then stored in a national gold depository and never sold!

Our country has some of the highest levels of gold ,silver, platinum and lithium per capita in the world.. but we’re to afraid to dig a hole .. dumb!

The reason the government doesn’t set up its own mines is mostly due to the fact that they don’t have 6 billion dollars and 10 to 20 years of exploration work to invest in. Not to mention getting the general public to agree to spend that kind of money, or time. And also. The government would F×ck it up royaly. Probably costing tax payers 20 billion.

So if you and some mates have a few billion sitting around. I know some good spots. You’re just not gonna win lotto for 10 to 20 years. But it might be a good investment. And as an added bonus. You will get to donate 10% of your hard earned gold to dole recipients as royalty’s. 30% to the government in tax. Probably a lot every year to DOC. Just think of how great you will make this country from all your hard work.

All mining companies started somewhere. Even Newmont & Oceana Gold. Share holder funded to start with I guess mostly. Look at Santana, & what they have found. Look at how much Glass Earth raped their shareholders. It amazes me how Glass Earth missed what Santana found, but they did obviously. Maybe they just didn’t drill deep enough or in the right places.

The Greens have stuffed up NZ doing its own mining, but like I say. The overseas companies still come & dig up our country regardless with the govt’s blessing. We could have our own oil & gas, we used to. But no, we can’t drill any more holes thanks to the greens. Funny how they still drive cars though & have gas BBQ’s. Please, don’t get me started. You know what I mean. NZ could be totally self sufficient. But no. Our Govt’s have sold us out to globalisation & we are totally reliant on the overseas masters who pull the puppet strings. NZ is sinking, & fast. Getting poorer by the day.

Sinful??

What bank do you bank with?

It’s sinful that the big banks in NZ are owned by overseas banks and all profits go off shore

This is more sinful than the mining companies your complaining about

And who’s fault is that, that most of our banks are Australian Banks? Started back in the goldrush days. New Zealand isn’t owned or controlled by New Zealanders. Successive Govt’s have sold us out & they play to the puppet strings of the overseas masters & bankers.

Moaning will not change anything

These last 3 years the present coalition have shown progress, you will never have anyone in power that ticks all the box’s but evidence will show who is preforming the best

Make your vote count

It’s not moaning. It’s fact & it doesn’t matter who you vote for the overseas masters, bankers & puppet string players will always win. Thinking your vote matters or counts is what they lead you to believe but it is just a smoke screen. How many times have election promises been reneged on??

The whole world is reliant on Chinese manufacturing. We having sold out on that decades ago. We are totally reliant on fuel from overseas. We used to have an oil refinery but we don’t even have that any more. This Iran situation shows how fragile getting fuel can be. It takes the cooperation of the whole world to keep the cogs turning to make things run smoothly. All it takes is one ego tripping prick, or pricks to upset the balance & hold the whole world to ransom. The cost always ends up coming out of our pockets.

I better stop it there.

I agree, but we can’t afford to keep up with the big boys. This is why we are being robbed by globalization

Yep, nothing truer than that. What difference is little New Zealand going to make on the world stage? Boy, do I have some stats on this that I will share tomorrow,
