Amongst the shotgun pellets, copper wire, square copper nails & other crap was this.
Other than the gold itself this has to be the oldest thing I’ve dredged up. 1858.
Anybody know when these went out of circulation??

Great find its in top order to one of the better ones think about 93% silver .

The “Young Head” as this image is called was minted from 1838 to 1887. So when it went out of circulation in 1887 Queen Vic would have been 68 years old and still have a young head.
Wish I could do that.
