Hi guys. Just looking at starting off.
Been watching The Curse of Oak Island and Metal Detecting looks like it can be quite fun.
Any advice on how to start off?
Do I need any permits to go detecting on Beaches/Parks etc?
Are there guidelines? I do take it if you find some jewellery on a beach/park that looks recently lost you should try to find the rightful owner. DO you just take it to the police station? Or maybe put a post up in local community Facebook group?
Or are you free to claim/sell hock off

Any groups in the Auckland/North Shore area?

Welcome aboard! As far as I’m aware you don’t need permits. I think it might be illegal to dig up artifacts around historic sites?

Research how to dig a good pug hole that you can replace without leaving a mess and you should be fine.
