Slab Hut Rock 'n' Roll

Hey all,

Pretty new to this fossicking lark. Had some fun messing around at Nelsons Creek with little return. Highlight was a Sth Island Robin landing on my head. Cute little curious thing.

Wanting to try Slab Hut out but pictures show rocks/big stones everywhere. How do you decide where it is worth the effort to dig a hole? Is it just hit or miss or is there some strategy to maximising potential there?

Thanks for your time and advice.

Cheers.

Very much hit & miss & likely the same rocks have been moved many times. No gold is easy gold as you will find out if you are serious about this fossicking lark. It isn’t always about the gold but the fun times out in nature, Meeting like minded people, having a few drinks over a camp fire, sharing shits & giggles & making new friends. Gold of a different kind.

Hey,
Thanks for your reply. I feared as much. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Will give it a go sometime. I gather you have to dig pretty deep. Yeah, it’s just a good excuse to get outside and entertain the wildlife.

Cheers.

I found 2 small garnets there right by carpark 2 yr ago

I have found numerous garnets there myself. Gold & garnets look quite cool in the pan together when panning out.
