Show us ya Gold!

Seems very quite on the gold finding front.

A few more rats & mice.

Getting a bit grim

No shortage of shot gun pellets though. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

A few more from Sunday just gone.

Got to love the West Coast blue bottom.

A few days at a public fossicking site before the floods arrived and destroyed my hole. I hope who ever finds my swept away bucket can make good use of it.

They are those odd things that after 40mm of rain the creek you could cross on one day cant be crossed the next.

Yesterday morning efforts. Using Caledonian super plastic drop riffle sluice un- classified.

Is that the black sluice? I have a caledonian for clean ups, but actually works really well as a regular sluice as well, nice and light and surprisingly tough…

Yep the big unit. I like the rubber riffle mat covering the flare, good capture and visibility.

Nice picker, 0.53g, did not move off the flare of river sluice. Does wonders for motivation.

Today’s effort, using dream mat, unclassified.
About 2.5 hrs all up. Jeez if the price keeps going up would you consider chucking in the day job?

How much weight of gold? When you say 2.5 hours all up, is that just the time you spent shoveling through your box? There is also the time & money spent in getting from your home & back again & also the time getting to your spot & setting up your box. So your 2.5 hours & the gold got may as well call it a day. Because if you chucked in your day job then any time out looking for gold during a day is a day lost from your day job that obviously will pay you what ever it is you get paid for a days work. You may spend a day out looking for gold & get nothing. You also have the shit weather days that will be down time with floods etc. It isn’t all lolly pops & rainbows.

Love it, we must all be nuts :joy:

All good points kiwi. I am lucky to live 20 minutes from gold So 2.5 hours is getting set up and shoveling and packing up. Two hours digging is about what I can handle these days.

Ha ha, I can relate to that.

My last few weekend efforts have only been about 3 hours of detecting on the day. Usually later in the afternoon but managed a few bit each time. Just an excuse to get out there with any gold being a bonus.

Bit of gorse bush clearing opening up a crevice that gave me a signal.

Getting a bit cooler these days & this was at 4pm

Bit of an E bike in to a spot Saturday just gone.

But was rewarded.

Nothing massive, like this sucker.

But the small ones all add up & at $180 odd a gram.

Good luck out there

Checked out a creek id done before after the floods and got a new signal a nice 1.1 grammer on the monster. No other gold found but nice to get out in-between the bad weather.

Took the GPX 6000 with Coiltek 10x5 Goldhawk coil for a walk yesterday arvo to a Queenstown spot. A mate of mine, yes I do have one, had got himself a Garrett Axiom. Was more or less gifted to him as it had a bit of damage done to it & all he had to pay for was the shipping from America. He fixed it & was keen to take it for a walk. Probably the only Axiom in the country. Here is his result.

My result minus any in field pics as I left my phone at home on the charger.

Not a fortune but better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick.

Clean up from a quick dig using home made millar table. Great for removing pesky black sand.
