Hows the dredging going mate is the river a tad high after that rain event ?
It’s dropped a lot but is still dirty. Hopefully get back in there this week
Nice Matt. Way better than my skunk on Saturday.
But here are some finds from the previous couple of weekends. Nothing marvelous but gold none the same.
One of the days involved mountain biking in to an area.
The next day I broke out the SDC 2300. Hadn’t used that for bloody years but it handles hot rocks quite well & I had a spot with heaps of those. Managed two little bits.
Then back to an area where I have been trying to find a quartz reef shedding gold/quartz specimens.
Still no joy in locating the source but snagged another nice speci & a couple of his mates.
And last but not least.

Mucked around in the bush with a mate today. Didn’t break any records but it was good to catch up, enjoy a nice day in the bush and find a few bits of gold
Better than my .55 of a gram for my effort going out with a mate yesterday. He got skunked trying his Manticore but got over 30 shot gun pellets. I was swinging the GPX 6000 with Coiltek 10x5 Goldhawk coil.

After going out with my friend from the above post the bastard gave me covid. His wife had had it for a week & while he & his daughter didn’t he thought it was all good to hang out with me. Two days later I was down. So I was laid up for over a week. Last sunday I was feeling better but not 100%. I wanted a change of scenery & some fresh air. So I thought I would go out for a quick detect. Short it was as after an hour & a half I was running out of steam.
Admittedly I hacked out a dead tree that was growing in a crevice that was in a run of bedrock that I snagged a few small bits in. On getting rid of the tree I was rewarded from the crevice. But it took it out off me & I called it quits. I was happy with the result. Just over 1.5 grams which is better than many of my previous results.

all so got one and found my 2g
What did that cost you?

I think its 280 with a pan and snuffer included if its the golden bay paydirt.
Nice mate. You didn’t say very much though. Guess a picture tells a thousand words.

Haha thanks mate, that’s actually only half of what I got for a overnight trip…last bit I pulled out was a half gram slug.
I’ll put a couple more photos up when I get a chance, hope your keeping well.
Winter arvo session at Goldsborough. Stream edge flood lead, also got lot of lead shot, metal bits. Plus this old tail race fork.
Well done. That is pretty good going. Love the sluice fork, gold isn’t too shabby either. Score.

Nice. Good effort.

Love that nugget, bet you looked twice when that appeared.
Yep that one didnt quite make it to the bucket i seen a glint of what i thought was a good picker sitting in a tiny pocket on the bedrock
Great days work and a fantastic nugget as a reward.
