Sam’s creek has been on the radar for decades. I was 14 when it was discovered. I am now 64.
I have to wonder if it will ever come to anything. It is in a very sensitive area & very different to the Snowy River project on the Birthday Reef below Waiuta’s Blackwater Mine.

It is a beautiful area around the Cobb, as are all the gold areas to date in their own unique way.
To contemplate for so many years, must certainly indicate the volume of gold in this area compared to other, less sensitive areas.
Does it also indicate that actual worthwhile commercial more accessable gold mining sites in NZ are few and far between ?
No one in any authority has what it takes to stick their head on the line, to busy covering their own special sensitive butts , earning (haha) exorbitant amounts of our tax paying dollers.

My thoughts too Webby. As much as I am pro mining, this area is very sensitive as I eluded to earlier. Some areas should just not be open to mining. This being one of them.
I am all for Santana Minerals up behind Bendigo & I believe a Canadian company is sampling up Carrick Range.
