Whitebate season. After that they will be packed. Slub hut had no one there last week. Goldsbrough had 2 people.
What does it matter? You wont make your fortune regardless. Despite the high gold price. I guess with gold about $220 a gram that helps.

I don’t know about that. To some of the regular fossicking people we have met at public sites. They consistently get over a gram a day or more. They will be out more often. Some of them will be doing well with current price compared to those of us struggling with this cost of living crisis.

Yes, but a lot of effort & hard graft goes into it & depending how far some travel to get there with fuel costs etc. I wouldn’t really consider it making a living. Maybe just recouping a few dollars towards having a good time for a weekend away with a bunch of like minded folk spinning shit & having a few beers & laughs. Gold of a different kind. Its not always about the gold gold but nice to walk away with some.

im travelling a long way and im not bothered if i get enough gold to cover even fuel costs. it just bit of a hobby thing and gets me out and about for a few days. probably do a bit of fishing while im there to. not just about the panning. i only asked initially because if theres 100 people there i would try a different site.

Both are long creeks. You’ll find a spot with peace either way. Rivers up and fishing not great at the moment
