There are many good Facebook threads but one of the best Gold Fields ones is certainly the ones created by John Aurich.

John presents many samples that would make your mouth water and really do put our New Zealand reef gold to shame. John mentions gold ore averaging 6000 ounces to the ton and presents some fabulous photos of some high grade epithermal gold samples.
He also presents photos of some of the mines which I believe he now owns and the buildings are just as intact and ready to work as they were yesterday and clearly put anything that our Department of Constipation wish to restore to shame. The only things lacking in the buildings and mines are the miners!
He also shows many relics of the gold fields so that for those interested in US gold mining Johns threads on Nevada’s treasures are well worth following.
