Miocrometeorites - tiny meteorites are everywhere

In most soils that i have dug, the little white balls are birdshot, the black ones are magnetite.

Rock could be ancient visitor

Kai Point Coal digger operator Harry Albert says he stumbled across what may be a 66-million-year-old meteorite, when mining a coal seam at the South Otago mine recently.

Very interesting. I had to laugh at the “re-entry” comment, as to re-enter it would have to have left earth in the first place to be able to re-enter. If a meteorite that would not be possible.
On a side note, a meteorite is a meteor that has hit the earth. A meteor that doesn’t hit the earth is just a meteor & not a meteorite. :blush:
