There are quite a few public fossicking areas in the South Island. Even a few near to you if you are up the top end. You could start with some of those to cut your teeth since you are new to this.

That’s nice of you Matt. You putting your hand up for him to have a play on your claim? I am sure he would appreciate that. Sounds like he would be fairly close to you so would work well for him.
