Hi Dave. Look forward to you contributing now you are out there fossicking around.
Sorry I didn’t reply to that text you sent me. I was getting over covid & thought I would go for an afternoon detect to get some fresh air & a change of scenery from being alienated to my bedroom. I only lasted 1.5 hours before running out of oomph. I did find 1.5 grams for the effort.
On getting back to my wagon I saw your text. When I got home I lay down & promptly fell asleep for a few hours & then forgot about you text. Sorry about that.
You could do a post on those bits you found. All very interesting.
Planning a day trip around coromandel/thames, done a fair bit of research on the area and what I’m looking for. What would be an average day out for people that have worked these areas before? A few colours here and there, half a gram? Or will I start another gold rush by asking the question in the internet. I’m new to this and would like to know how wrong I might be. Might have to change my fishing saying from “it’s called fishing not catching” to suit. I’ve a small sluice box to help me out.
Howdy Triple.t,
It might pay to check the rules regarding K gorge. If it is not a public fossicking area you could find yourself in a spot of bother from either government or existing claim holders. Good luck.
Yes, No legal public gold fossicking in the North Island. You do so at your own risk. Don’t forget the the Coro is a very “green” area full of tree hugging frog arse licking people who will dob you in to Environment Waikato at the drop of a hat. Been there, had that happen to me.
