Hi Gavin. It is quite common practice on over seas forums that I have belonged to that a new member/subscriber needs to chalk up 10 posts before they can buy or sell through the forum. The reason being… scammers. Even more so these days. In the course of their 10 posts it helps them to build up a repoor & trust with us as to there interest & involvement in this activity. Giving us the confidence that they are legit.
Usually legit people start off by introducing themselves & where they are from/based & there interest & or adventures & activities in chasing the yellow metal. If they dont communicate in this fashion but insist on just promoting a sale or purchase then that is usually a red flag, 3 strikes & they are out.
This sorts out the weeds. Seems to work.
Cheers John, I’ll have a look to see what settings I might be able to tweak. I’m trying to automate as much as possible so I don’t have to watch every post. With this forum if enough members flag a post then it’ll automatically get hidden, but not many people use that feature unfortunately. In this case it’s just provided a bit of amusement instead of flags.
