What’s under the classifier that we can’t see. Is there a sloping shelf towards the back of the box directing the material there? I reckon your riffles are too big for a rocker box. Rocker boxes a pretty gentle in there operation & usually very good at catching fine gold. The size of those riffles will hold back too much bigger size gravels. A really low expanded mesh is the answer. Even no mesh at all but just that carpet & a keen eye. Just my ten cents worth having made & used rocker boxes myself.

Hi JW this rocker box is high volume 14mm holes in the classifier and a hell of a lot faster than the old timers boxes , the water also folds off the sides to help keep the riffles clear !
I am sure the old timers were on to it. Lets not forget, it was their livelihood. I am of the opinion that high volume would also mean high loss of fine values. The “expanded” mesh type riffles there don’t look like they slope like riffles should, but just appear to be straight up & down. Not an ideal riffle to allow a more stream lined flow or create a shuffling of material back eddy, concentrating heavies.
If high volume is what you want then a sluice box is the answer.
Rocker boxes were for use when there was very little water to work with, or not enough water flow to run a sluice box.
What is your gold recovery like. Have you collected & panned off tailings to see any lost values? Would be interesting.
Again, just my ten cents worth.

This is high volume compared to the old rockerboxs I’m pouring 5/L of water at a time 100% recovery of gold ,I know because I use to pan the tailings to see if I lost any !!
Under the classifier is an angled leveling table no carpet.
I made the first rockbox back in 1987 and I have been making little changes since then !!
Sweet. Can’t say I have ever comes across anyone using a rocker box out in the wild & I have been around a wee while. I have made & used one & yes it worked but I just made it & used it for shits & giggles. A sluice box is easier to use & to cart in to spots & quicker & less labour intensive. The water doing the work. Good luck.

Pouring 5 liters at a time would get pretty exhausting id imagine though im not a rocker box expert. Design looks good
