Would like to get in contact with a person in Wakefield/Richmond area who has a metal detector. I need to locate a telephone cable know roughly where it will lay but not exactly. So am looking for someone to help me out.

Success with a metal detector will depend how deep it is. If over about 300mm deep might not get found with a metal detector.

You should be able to hire a cat 3 locater from hirepool or similar. Failing that the local council contractor will have one…as long as you know where one end of the cable is locating it will be straight forward
