Earthquakes can trigger quartz into forming giant gold nuggets, study finds

So we need a giant earthquake below or around a reasonably active volcano?

No gold around Auckland, Christchurch was mud, where in the Southern Alps have we got both?

I don’t think any volcanoes are needed deep within the crust as probably hot enough?

An interesting article - now I am wondering how much gelignite I need to trigger an earthquake large enough to make large gold nuggets in the many quartz reefs on my place.

No idea… but it sure would be fun to experiment with a stick or 10

Gezz Cardrona, don’t encourage him… It doesn’t take much. :slightly_smiling_face:
