I don’t think any volcanoes are needed deep within the crust as probably hot enough?
An interesting article - now I am wondering how much gelignite I need to trigger an earthquake large enough to make large gold nuggets in the many quartz reefs on my place.
No idea… but it sure would be fun to experiment with a stick or 10
