Diedrichs Gold mining Family Hokitika

Hi,

I am trying to track down some family relatives who own a few gold mines in Hokitika, they are the Diedrichs family and have been historic gold prospectors since the 1860’s. They are my cousins, my grandmother grew up in Blackbull so I have a close relationship with them.

I am the President of UC Goldsoc at Canterbury, the 1st gold-prospecting and niche-investment club. We want to get a Tier 3 Mining permit and get access to some claims or work out royalty agreements. We have students who study geology, engineering and finance. I have a bet that geology students would be excellent at tracking down different alluvial deposits on claims that are not public. As the public spots are super mined out!

Let me know if anyone knows of the Diedrichs and anyone I could get in contact with ?

Cheers

Seems odd to me that if you have a close relationship with them that you don’t have contact with them or even know how to contact & get in touch with them. I guess you have tried Facebook & other social media platforms. Try ask AI. You could even comb the permit info to track them down maybe. Obviously long lost relatives that your family hasn’t bothered to keep in touch with. Funny that their obvious interest & involvement with gold & gold mining has now got you interested in them, or is it the gold, after all the years. Gold does funny things to people. Just saying.

I meant they’re closely blood-related, 2nd cousins. All I know is that they own a gold mine near Hokitika and a greenstone place there. One of them is Wayne Diedrechs. My Aunty knows them more, but she is in the hospital all the time. My main interest is that it is not what you know but who you know or who you’re related to when it comes to prospecting.
