There is. But there are many things to consider. What part of the country are you in or looking at? Are you offering anything to somebody that is going to put you onto their proven ground? Would you be prepared to invest in the research someone else has already done and what would be in it for them sharing that with you? Does it need to be accessible? Are you fit and healthy enough to carry gear etc into hard to access areas? Do you have a bankroll to fly you into remote areas? Are you able to prospect yourself or will you go in blind only on the research you do? Would you be prepared to hire somebody to prospect potential sites if you dont have the knowledge/abilities to do so? Are you prepared to do the homework regarding consents etc and the list goes on… a better option may be to buy into a sharehold. Its a less risky venture, lower costs as far as fees etc as shared and you will learn a lot as you go and from there perhaps look at taking out a new claim. There is still good ground out there but it is most likely to be harder to get to as a lot of the easily accessed areas have been worked or claimed over the years.
A lot to consider and nothing comes easy in the gold game… unless you are one extremely lucky individual. All the best and good luck👍

There is still viable ground to claim particulary on the west coast , i just had a look , but certainly the easy acsess country is claimed
