scored a 18ct and platinum oldie from the beach cant makeout hallmarks but would think from the 20s or 30s,hope all is well with all in the south island another big quake lucky only two died closer to ch ch would have been nasty.stay safe.

Why is it silvered along the top - perhaps something better than silver?
Whatever it is, there is a fair amount of precious metal there around the stone.
