Now that we’re retired, a mate and I have started doing annual trips around the South Island to do some gold panning, fishing and mountain biking. (I live in the Bay of Plenty and there’s not a lot of prospecting opportunities up this way). Last year we did the upper South Island and this year (March) we’re planning to come down to Otago. While we will visit the public fossicking areas, we were just wondering if there are any private claim owners in the Queenstown, Arrowtown, Nevis areas willing to let us to pan on their claim, or could anyone give me the name of someone I could contact maybe?
