A French farmer discovers a gold deposit worth 4 billion euros, but the state claims it and leaves him with nothing

Well that sucks…

Why would you disclose it?
I’m sure that the over 2oz nugget recently offered on here, wasn’t the only large nugget that has been found recently. Heard of a absolute whopper being found by a tourist with a detector, from a reliable witness think the real amount of gold being found is never disclosed.

I agree. I’ve been privy to some really big finds lately that haven’t popped up anywhere publicly or online. It’s very encouraging to know that there’s still big bits out there to find

Iv just been and seen a mate thismorning whos detecting buddy just last weekend scraped out a nugget the size of a pack of winfields detecting on the coast.
Its currently getting cleaned and i get to meet it tonight.

His 2nd ever mission out, using a 6000. Crazy luck.

I wonder if someone might have detected it before and walked away because it screamed like a huge junk signal… I’m sure I’ve been guilty of this in the past.

Personally I would hate to find a really big nugget … I mean you’d have to retire early … get yourself a trophy wife (my present wife would be pissed) … the stress of picking out a expensive car and holiday home, which country to travel to …and would I really be happy? … no I’m just gonna stick to flour gold thanks  ! …lol!

The story of the farmer and his treasure of gold is apparently fictional.

Gemini thinks you’re right: (I was caught out by click bait it seems)

Based on the search results, there’s a strong indication that La Grada Online (lagradaonline.com) is not a reliable news source and often publishes clickbait or misleading stories.
Here’s why:

  • Google News Community threads: There are discussions in the Google News Community specifically complaining about “Clickbait ‘stories’ from lagradaonline.com appear to be manipulating Google News.” This suggests a pattern of sensationalist and potentially misleading headlines designed to generate clicks rather than provide accurate information.
  • Reddit discussions: Reddit users have also discussed “Lagrada” and “Marca .coms” as sources of “spam plant to get seniors excited” and “clickbait, and many of the articles are simply populated by AI.” One user explicitly mentions their ex falling for “bs articles on there claiming we were getting another stimulus or extra Social Security checks.”
  • General unreliability of similar sites: The search results also mention other instances of “fake news websites” and how they operate (e.g., using misleading content to generate advertising revenue, or being poorly-worded attempts to pitch products). While not directly about the “Gold France Mine” story, it paints a picture of a media landscape where sites like La Grada Online can flourish with unreliable content.
While I can’t definitively say the “Gold France Mine” story is fake without a direct fact-check of that specific article, the overwhelming evidence suggests that La Grada Online is generally an unreliable source, and therefore, any information from it should be treated with skepticism.
