Hi Roy I know the HMS buffalo was here in 1837 and the whalers were a little further north the local school founded late 1860s would be pretty cool to break onto the 1700 club

Quick hunt on the way home found a coin that had me stumped obviously a vickie but just seemed a bit small for a penny under a mag glass 1958 and at 28 mm fits the bill once again a few variables worth shit loads but to rotton to tell
The coin in the middle is the one found the others found close by and the difference quite remarkable between black mud and close to the high tide mark

durr didn’t think of half pennies probably one

Was in your area today chasing a ring last seen in the hands of a 5 year old - Unfortunately no joy, but mum is now shaking all Ms. 5’s toys to see if she deposited it inside one of them…
