I’m a 34-year-old Christchurch-based Installation Manager working full-time with a side business focused on cutting, welding, fabrication, and specialist hands-on work. I’ve always been mechanically minded and happiest when figuring things out with tools in my hands.

I grew up sluicing and spending time around rivers, and it’s something I’ve recently come back to — partly for myself, and partly because I’ve got a 2.5-year-old son and I’d love to get him into it from a young age. There’s something hard to beat about being outdoors, learning practical skills, and chasing real results.

I’m here mainly to learn, share ideas, and tap into the experience of people who’ve been doing this longer than I have. I’m not afraid to ask questions, experiment, or put in the work, and I’ve got a lot of respect for practical knowledge earned the hard way.
