Hi all, there is only four days left to sign my petition to lobby the govt to create additional Public Gold Fossicking areas in NZ , We’re well over 2000 signed now which is great. I will be handing over my petition to Shane Jones on the steps of parliament the following week where I will hopefully get 2 minutes to talk to him about the need for additional PFA’s9 maybe some in the north Island) also possibly some regulation changes! Haha .. yeah I’m struggling to find something to wear! .. my suit is for funerals only .. tried on my mates sports jacket and its too small..lol (looks like I got it from a second hand shop) .. old gold timers clothes did cross my mind but I’ll probably get arrested for looking like a homeless person .. I’ll keep looking! ..lol!

Let us know how you get on as i have just under 500 hectares under permit of well known Gold producing rivers down the south island an we are prepared to surrender some ground for public fossicking areas (Pfa).
We also have some old claim holders looking at selling up to 400 hectares of dredging permits later on in the year

That’s great I’ll keep it in mind, I have talked to a few other claim owners who have the same idea so it would be nice if I can refer these options to the powers that be when the time comes! Legends!

Thanks guys … yeah I meet with Shane Jones on Tuesday where I will be presenting my petition for him to submit to the select committee in Parliment.
In the 2 minutes I’ll get with him I will be discussing …
Primarily urging govt to dedicate resources to create additional public fossicking areas in NZ including a couple in the north island (some work has already been started on this but has been put on the back burner) .Hopefully he will get the mining portfolio in the next term and can follow up on this ..
If I get any extra time I may suggest floating the option of a fossickers permit where an individual could hold a permit to gold fossick in any unclaimed gold bearing areas under strict conditions.
Also explain if he could give us some sort of assurance that he would follow this up then I’m sure prospectors would consider voting for NZ first.
