Dodgy behavior at public fossicking areas

That’s a brillant map mate. Cheers

Has taken me a full day. And more than one attempt to get in. Shamrock terrace is the proper gold field and is covered in tailings and races, bluffs and shafts over a big area.

Another amazing map, that’s pretty cool.

It even has a key so I know what’s what.

I think I have found a new friend to go exploring with, looking forward to having a good look around up there.

I guess it is effort vs reward. My experience is I can get on gold close to the car park without a walk 2 + hours. But it is getting harder to find a posse as the numbers pick up.

Was up there 6 weeks ago, the track was very steep and to top it off a couple of large trees have crossed the track and it looked very hard to get past , so had to turn back, so I dont know if DOC clear the track up that far, it is quite a ropey track the higher you get, but that map has really got my gold fever juices twitching, so will be back there in Feb/Mar

Some people are just prepared to put a lot more effort in. I remember years back a bunch of guys got together at 12 mile creek here in QT & with wet suits, masks, snorkels & shovels just went hard out clearing down to bedrock for the chunkier gold. Just shoveling every thing else out of the way from bank to bank. People went mental over that too but it was all hand gear.& tools. They did well from what I heard.
