The Maritime Museum (Princes Wharf) is holding an Antiques Roadshow-type event. They are asking that people bring along their own objects for valuation with experts. Bookings are required, phone 373 0814. The cost is $5.
This is part of the Auckland Heritage Festival, 24 Sep to 9 October. The programme for this can be picked up at your local library.
There are many different events spread out over Auckland, including entertainment, workshops, displays and exhibitions, talks and seminars, tours and walks. A good chance to get to know more of the history of Auckland (and where it might be good to swing your detector!). Quite a lot of interesting activities going on: the book is 70+ pages.
