This area includes the Sainbury Falls and Bridge, parking just after the bridge and a Bio toilet halfway between the road and the falls.Nearest official camping is either at Brown hut (end of …raod) or back 20 mins at Collingwood.
Nice picinic spot and swimming hole during summer however this river is prone to flash floods!!
Gold is mainly very fine and can be found amongst the black sand deposits in and around bedrock cracks, potholes and in between large rocks.Flood gravel bars generally contain very little gold.Good luck…check out my Youtube video on this area.

Just upstream from Sainsbury Bridge, diving down between the bedrock scooping up the black sand.

Typical fine gold found in the black sand but very tricky to pan out ,need great patience!!..And don’t sneeze!!

Bainham’s Langford store, always good for an ice cream and a cuppa tea after a hard days fossicking!!
