Was named the Honourable Roddy after the minister of the mines, Roderick Mckenzie.

A nugget can only impress & gather dust in a cabinet.
I’ve a feeling a replica would have been made in nz - most had replicas.
There was a rumour of a large one found in Waikamarina, but they broke it up and took it to Australia to avoid NZ heavy handed gold tax. Probably a lot of gold goes unreported.
Big enough for a mention, I was living near there back in 2001 and remember something being said about it being found under a tree out whoop whoop by someone running an old whites detector.
